Power ranking the SEC after week 9: #13 - Auburn

The Tigers are something of a mystery insofar as I can’t figure out if they’re a mystery or rather straightforward. A second-layer mystery, I guess you could say. Or whatever.

What I mean is that the Tigers put up some interestingly solid numbers in some of these losses, but the turnovers in particular are what set them back. They are still -9 on the season in turnover margin, even after being a +1 each of the last two weeks.

The offense is still an unmitigated struggle in the sense of their ability to produce points, but they have been pretty efficient when it comes to running the ball. Only two games this year have resulted in a rushing success rate under 40% for the Tigers, and that was against Georgia.

But that all is well and good, but it ends up not mattering if you are unable to produce points, which the Tigers still struggle to do. The upcoming home game against Vanderbilt will be telling—a win there keeps their bowl hopes alive, as they are currently teetering at 3-5 with games against A&M and Alabama still remaining.
