Power ranking the SEC after week 9: Aggies nearing the top after huge win over LSU
Power ranking the SEC after week 9: #12 - Vanderbilt
The Commodores are now 5-3, and need to win one of the following games to reach bowl eligibility: at Auburn, home against South Carolina, at LSU, and home against Tennessee.
None of those seem to be outright, unquestionable losses, though it will be a tough row to hoe in the final two especially. What I mean to say is that this week against Auburn will be a really, really big game for the ‘Dores, just like it is for the Tigers.
Pavia and this Vandy offense continue to pose problems to teams with how well they run the scheme. The execution routinely looks like they’re at the ceiling of how well this offense can run (though they didn’t look especially crisp this past weekend), which still makes them a scary team.
The issue is the deficiency in talent compared to other teams left on the schedule. Scheme and execution can get you a long way, but as long as the other team is executing too, you’re still in trouble if they’re more talented. I think the Commodores pick up one more win before the season is out, but maybe only one.
