Power ranking the SEC after week 9: #9 - Florida

The Gators had an off week this week, and have moved up in these rankings thanks to Missouri slipping a bit. I’m still a bit wary of some fool’s gold here, and I don’t expect UF to beat Georgia this weekend or anything, but the outlook is certainly more positive than I expected coming out of this bye.

Of course, this is where the rubber meets the road. The final stretch for the Gators is positively diabolical: UGA in Jacksonville, Texas on the road, home against LSU and Ole mIss, and then an easy end to the season at FSU.

Can the Gators upset one of these four SEC teams and get to six wins? That possibility should not be written off by any means. I can’t say it’s individually likely for any of those four games, but it seems likely in the aggregate.

Again, this is contingent upon the idea that what we’ve seen out of the Gators is not a flash in the pan. The deep passing game with Lagway makes this a dangerous offense, and the run game hasn’t been terrible the last few weeks either.
