Power ranking the SEC after week 8: 7 - Missouri

The Tigers pulled out what looked like an extremely improbable win over Auburn on the road this week, bouncing back from a loss to Alabama at home with a win over the Tide's rivals on the road. They nearly didn't make it, though: they had the second-lowest postgame win expectancy of any team on this list (with the first being Texas).

The second half of the Tigers' road trip will take them to Nashville, Tennessee, where College Gameday and Diego Pavia's Commodores await. The 'Dores, now in the top ten after their win over the LSU Tigers, will be a true test for the Tigers— and I don't love Drinkwitz's squad on the second half of a conference road back to back.

That said, if Mizzou does in fact pull this game out, they will remain alive in the race for Atlanta and the playoff. Lose, and you're likely done in both respects, especially with road games at Oklahoma and Arkansas still to go, not to mention a home date with the Texas A&M Aggies.

Beau Pribula showed some guts in this one for sure, but it was still a little too close for comfort in several respects. Playing Alabama close was a feather in the cap, but there are still some red flags for what remains a somewhat-unproven Missouri squad.
