Power ranking the SEC after week 8: 2 - Alabama
The Tide just keep winning games over ranked teams. The jury is still out on Missouri and Tennessee in some ways— Mizzou still hasn't really played anyone of note besides Alabama and just nearly lost to a bad Auburn team, while Tennessee's defense is looking increasingly suspect— but the win over Vanderbilt is surprisingly aging quite well.
Is it enough to keep the stink of that loss to Florida State in the opener off of the Tide? Not quite. That one keeps looking worse and worse— when the program that took you down in a huge upset is considering firing their coach in the same season, you know that it was a bad loss.
Even so, the Tide are now once again in the top four. They still have a bit of a gauntlet to navigate, but there's no one on this schedule that you'd say they shouldn't beat when all is said and done. Oklahoma may be the toughest out, and they should handle them pretty easily at home.
Barring something unexpected, DeBoer's Crimson Tide should be making their way to Atlanta come early December. Will it be a rematch with Georgia? Facing off with Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss? Or will it be against the Aggies? We'll just have to wait and see.
