Predicting three Aggie transfer commits for Mike Elko: OL Coen Echols
LSU starting offensive lineman Coen Echols declared his intention to enter the portal recently, and it immediately drew a lot of eyes from Texas A&M football fans. That has less to do with Echols' current stardom— though he's certainly a solid interior offensive lineman— and more to do with the fact that he was a longtime Texas A&M commitment who flipped to LSU following Jimbo Fisher's firing.
Echols was always seen as a developmental piece with a high ceiling by the previous staff, and he's shown flashes of high-level play already on an offensive line down in the Bayou that really struggled this past year. He was a bright spot for them, and could continue to be if he comes to College Station.
The need for Texas A&M along the offensive front is clear. Four members of the six-man group are out the door after this year for sure, with one being a big question mark in Chase Bisontis.
Echols could fit a plug-and-play need for the Aggies if he comes back home. After two years down on the Bayou, it's time for him to come to the winning side of the Sabine and join up with Mike Elko and company.
