Where will Texas A&M football be ranked after defeating no. 8 LSU 38-23?

Texas A&M football just knocked off the LSU Tigers in one of the most improbable and exciting comebacks we've seen in Kyle Field in quite some time. After a poor first half on offense, Mike Elko made the switch from Conner Weigman to Marcel Reed, who began to knife through the defense, utilizing Collin Klein's veer package to perfection.

LSU never came up with an answer for Reed's abilities, and the Aggies strung together a 31-7 run in the second half to send the Tigers packing. What a huge win by this A&M team, who is now in sole possession of first place in the conference.

So, just how far will the Aggies rise in today's AP Poll? It seems certain that they should move into the top 10 teams in the country, even though they'll have to leapfrog a few teams to do so. Neither 7-0 Iowa State nor 6-1 Clemson have a win as impressive as the Aggies, but I think voters might be hesitant to rank A&M ahead of Notre Dame.

If they aren't though—and A&M is indeed playing like a much different team than the one that lost to the Irish earlier this year—then I could see a swap situation, where the Aggies rise to 8 and the Tigers tumble to 14.

There's really no resume-based reason that Texas should be ranked ahead of the Aggies at this juncture, either, but good luck with that line of logic when it comes to things like a media poll.

For those reasons, I think we see A&M move up to 8, while the Tigers slide.

The AP Poll will release at 1 PM CT.
