Texas A&M has been in a heavy battle for some of the highest-caliber prospects in the nation for the upcoming 2026 cycle. The Aggies are right in the thick of things for several big time five-star prospects, and Mike Elko and his staff are more than holding their own, with a couple of elite prospects already in the boat.
There are several more Aggie targets announcing this week, but fans watching the rankings have their eyes on two in particular. Those are DeSoto receiver Ethan "Boobie" Feaster and Buford (GA) defensive lineman Bryce Perry-Wright, with both of whom the Aggies have been very involved for quite some time.
Things seemed to be shaping up in a particular fashion as we approached the commitment dates for both prospects. Both were originally listed for July 4, but Perry-Wright moved back his date by a day earlier this week, creating some intrigue. Now, with predictions rolling in, things have gone upside-down in both recruitments.
Texas A&M predicted to land Bryce Perry-Wright but miss on Ethan "Boobie" Feaster in sudden reversal
There had been a lot of Clemson momentum for Perry-Wright coming into the week, but murmurs of the Aggies sticking around became louder and louder over the last couple of days. Finally, this bombshell dropped today from Steve Wiltfong, and was confirmed by Aggie reporters:
There it is.

Here’s my intel from a bit ago on where Texas A&M stands + the current state of his recruitment

However, the excitement among Aggie fans quickly died down when, only minutes later, a bevy of predictions rolled in for the star DeSoto receiver Feaster to land with the USC Trojans.
Of the two, landing Perry-Wright right now is probably more pressing, given Feaster's proximity to A&M. If he does end up committing to USC, the Aggies will have a better chance of working on him over the course of the season and leading up to signing day.
Another angle here is Feaster's well-known awareness of how many receivers are going to be in a class. There was major LSU momentum until Tristen Keys committed to the Tigers, at which point Feaster backed off of his Tiger love. With the chatter of Keys perhaps flipping to the Aggies, it's not out of the question that this move could mean something is happening soon on that front.
Whatever goes on, one thing is for sure: recruiting is a wild game. Mike Elko and company have navigated things well so far, and it seems like we're in for a crazy finish.
