After a 38-17 win, you would think that Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko would be happy to celebrate some history, after going 9-0 here in the 2025 season. That was anything but the case.

After a sloppy first half, it seemed like the Aggies still had enough to be proud about, after a strip sack from Daymion Sanford and a fumble recovery return the other way from Dalton Brooks. The Aggies would pretty much roll with that momentum into the second half and would never look back.

Based on Elko's attitude, you would think the Aggies barely won the game. Here is what Elko had to say.

Mike Elko on responding to the Missouri run game:

"I challenged both sides of the ball, and only one side of the ball responded. We were getting outrushed by a lot at halftime. We knew that if it continued that way, we weren't going to find the success that we needed to find."

Mike Elko on winning games on the road:

"We're 4-0 this year on the road. We only got one left, so we'll finish this year with a winning record if my math is right, and I'm just proud of how these guys went out and did that."

Mike Elko on second half adjustments:

"At the end of the day, you've got to come in, you've got to regroup at halftime, and you've got to go out and play a better second half, and I thought we did that."

Mike Elko on the ceiling for Texas A&M football:

"Obviously, I believe this is what this program is capable of. I think that's why we're here. It's why we took the job. It's why we came here as a family."

Mike Elko on fixing his defense:

"Overall, we did the things we needed to do, held them to 17 points, and did well on third downs. For the most part, we played well, but we've got to get our rush defense consistent."
