The Texas A&M Aggies needed a win to get into the SEC Championship game.

That didn't happen. In fact, they never even got going for them either.

They had no rhythm or momentum at all for much of the contest, thanks to the rushing defense having no answer for Quintrevion Wisner.

Here's what Mike Elko and others had to say after the loss.

Mike Elko last three SEC losses:

"It sucks. There's no sugarcoating it. We had opportunities and we didn't get it done."

Mike Elko on blocked punt not being returned for touchdown:

"Dalton fell down. That's a million percent a scoop and score. Dalton went to pick it up and his feet went out from underneath him. That should've been a touchdown but he just slipped."

Mike Elko on Texas talent:

"Tonight, we just got way too many misfits, way too many lack of leverage, way too many simple execution errors. They're good, they're talented and hats off to them because they physically annihilated us."

Taurean York on TV viewership impact of losing against Texas:

"I told the team there's a big difference between the SEC Championship game and the Music City Bowl and the Texas Bowl. We'll be playing in one of those games that people are not caring about, people not watching."

Taurean York on improvement of A&M football program:

"It's come a long way, it used to be circus, and now, it's a college football program."

Marcel Reed on progressing as quarterback:

"Just being able to be a leader and have the team follow me, I think as the season went on, a lot of people felt more comfortable with me being in the position I was in. I felt like I took strides this year in that."

Marcel Reed on offensive struggles:

"It's difficult to get the pass game going when they know you can't get the run game going."

Marcel Reed on future of team:

"Going into next season, we have some teams on are radar we need to get back. It sucks. Next year, we will bounce back for sure and take care of business."
