Texas A&M football has wasted no time in taking advantage of the momentum that their recent win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish has yielded.

The Aggies were in some massive recruiting battles over the summer, and while they came out the better in several of them, there were a few where they didn't end up as the top dog. One notable recruitment was that of five-star edge rusher Anthony "Tank" Jones out of Mobile, Alabama.

The race for Jones was thought to be between Alabama and Texas A&M for quite some time, but Oregon— his third finalist— ended up swooping in at the last moment to gain his verbal pledge. Since that point, Jones has been a part of the highly-ranked Ducks class, and the Ags have been put on the back burner with every other school that has been recruiting him.

As of recently, though, A&M and the other finalists have been slowly reemerging in this race for Jones. Though it will no doubt be difficult to shake him from his Oregon commitment, the Aggies have notched a big milestone by reportedly locking in a visit from the elite edge rusher.

According to Steve Wiltfong of RIvals, the Aggies— along with the Miami Hurricanes— are set to host Jones for a visit this fall.

It is not yet public information for which game he'll be in College Station, but it would make sense to be on this upcoming home stand. He could see the Aggies play his in-state Auburn Tigers or visit for a night game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs— the Florida game has lost some luster, but that would be a great experience as well.

We've seen this staff give recruits a lot to think about on the visits they end up making, so getting him on campus is a huge deal for the Aggies. Hopefully, Elko and this recruiting staff can make this visit count in a huge way— or even flip the highly-touted edge rusher.
