The last 48 to 72 hours of SEC football has been cinema — aside from Texas A&M suffering its first loss of the season, that is. We had a full slate of rivalry games that provided plenty of action, and then a coaching carousel that seemed to double the dramatic fair.

So in case you decided to sit around your house with the TV turned off following Friday's 10-point defeat, here's everything you missed since.

Alabama holds on to late lead in the Iron Bowl over Auburm, 27-20

Kalen Deboer's team found its way to a hard-earned victory on Saturday in enemy territory, taking down its rival despite playing another shaky game on offense. Auburn outgained the Tide 411 to 280 with a 259-122 edge through the air, while converting on 50 percent of its third downs and only giving up one sack.

But the turnover margin ended up making all the difference in this one. Alabama kept itself clean in that category all day, while Auburn had two turnovers — including a late fumble as it was marching to tie the game — to seal its fate.

Alabama can now continue on its season with an SEC title game appearance against Georgia, and most likely a College Football Playoff appearance. Auburn falls to 5-7 with the loss, and hired South Florida's Alex Golesh on Sunday to be the team's newest head coach.
