SEC Power Rankings see significant movement after upset-filled week two

The SEC power rankings are back for week two, now that Saturday's games have fully concluded. There was no shortage of upsets in this week's action, leading to quite a bit of shuffling throughout these rankings.

You can consult the week one rankings at this link to see what the changes are. For now, though, let's jump right into the week two SEC power rankings.

SEC Week 2 power rankings - 16: Arkansas

The Hogs dominated a lesser opponent for the second week in a row, as they dispatched Arkansas State in Little Rock by a score of 56-14. Just like last week, though, it’s hard to take away a lot from this game.

Arkansas struggled with a team that they should not have when they played Alabama A&M in week one. They didn’t struggle as much in this game, but given Petrino and Pittman’s penchant for pummeling lesser teams, this kind of performance is more what we saw of last year.

Given that the Hogs are looking to improve on last year rather than remain at the same level, of course, you can’t really come away from this one saying that you’re encouraged about their prospects. The Hogs will play in Oxford next week, and we’ll see then just how improved— or not-improved— this team actually is.
