SEC Week 2 power rankings - 8: Missouri

Beau Pribula and Missouri got off to a very slow start against the Kansas Jayhawks, but the Tigers eventually got things going against KU. They ended up taking home a rivalry win over their neighbors to the west, and they’re hoping to build on this game.

As I’ve mentioned previously, Mizzou has about the biggest cake walk of a schedule that you can get in the SEC once again this year, not having to leave Columbia until their seventh game. Add to that the fact that they avoid a lot of tough teams— they do play Alabama, South Carolina, and A&M, to be fair— and this is about as guaranteed of a nine-win slate as you can get.

Again like last year, though, this is a decent squad. The biggest question will be whether Eli Drinkwitz can actually win any of these big time games that they play in. Last year, they were 0-for-3 despite being on the verge of a win in the other Columbia.

With this level of schedule, 10 wins may not be enough for a playoff berth, though. Pribula and this offense have things rolling right now, but they don’t really have a lot of chances to impress against top-level teams.
