LSU wins slugfest with South Carolina, 20-10
In a game that felt nothing like the Arkansas-Tennessee showdown, LSU and South Carolina fought in a phone booth for 60 minutes in what ended up as a double-digit victory for the Tigers.
This game was far more out of reach than the final score indicates, as LSU turned the ball over in South Carolina territory three times, including twice at the goal line. The Gamecocks took an early lead on a 72-yard touchdown from Matt Fuller, but their offense fell flat from that point on and struggled to muster any sort of success. Quarterback LaNorris Sellers finished the day with 125 yards, was sacked five times and threw one interception.
South Carolina falls to 1-3 in a crowded SEC and still has tough games against Oklahoma, Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas A&M on the schedule. Meanwhile, the Tigers move to 5-1 on the season and head to Nashville this Saturday for an intriguing battle against a rested Vanderbilt program.

Ole Miss avoided catastrophe Saturday in its 24-21 victory over a visiting Washington State team. The Rebels trailed late into the third quarter, struggling to find anything on offense, until a 17-yard touchdown run from Trinidad Chambliss and a 35-yard throw to Cayden Lee led them to a narrow victory. Lane Kiffin's crew will now head to Athens for a game between the hedges against Kirby Smart and his Georgia Bulldogs.
