Texas A&M football has everything going wrong for them right now in their game against South Carolina, with the Gamecocks utilizing an end-of-quarter scoop and score to lead 17-3 at the end of the first. Coming into the second quarter, an interview with ESPN saw Beamer throw out some crazy shade at the Aggies that they can hopefully make him regret.

"Just guys making plays. ... We're not surprised. We beat this team by 24 points last year. ... Our guys didn't come in here just to compete.
You can understand how Beamer is so hyped right about now, with every break going right for his team. Coming out of a bye week with a new offensive coordinator, their heretofore sad-sack offense all of a sudden has life against an A&M defense that has been on their heels all day.
Shane Beamer's wild shade towards Texas A&M could come back to bite him
Of course, there's new personnel every single year for each team, but it's clear that there is a bit of a mental edge right now for the Gamecocks— they are not playing scared in the slightest on the defensive side of the ball in particular. Things began to snowball in the second half of the game in 2024, and Texas A&M is desperately hoping that doesn't happen again.
The Aggies have had a very uncharacteristic game up until this point, allowing lots of pressures and struggling to pick up much on the ground. That no doubt has to do with some of this mentality, as well as the Gamecocks sitting on the run in a big way, but the Ags have to find a way out of this hole.
If they don't, it will prove Beamer right. For a team coming into this game with so much to play for still, this has not been the kind of effort you want to see out of this Aggie squad. Something has to change quickly, or the Aggies will do the unthinkable— as of right now, they're facing their biggest deficit yet this season.
