Shemar Stewart has found his NFL home in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The former Texas A&M football player entered this draft season without a lot of numbers to his name as far as production, but it was his excellent numbers in pre-draft testing that caught the eye of NFL GMs everywhere. As the chatter around him began to heat up, his projection as a first-rounder began to become more of the common wisdom.
Now, that projection has become reality. Shemar was indeed chosen in the first round of the NFL draft, and he will be making his way to the AFC North next year to compete against Myles Garrett as a fellow DE in the division.
Cincinnati Bengals fans will love what Shemar Stewart brings to the table
Shemar didn't get a chance to put up a lot of sacks on the field, but what will stick out to Bengals fans right away is his unimpeachable game as a run defender. Stewart is unselfish up front and can use his freak athleticism in a great way on the line, knocking back opposing offensive tackles and ruining game plans.

As his pass rush kit continues to come along, he could end up being tremendous value for the Bengals at the 17th selection. When all is said and done, he has the ability to be the best defensive end taken in the entire draft if things fall the right way.
Shemar is stepping into a good situation up in Cincinnati as well. With Trey Hendrickson outbound from the Bengals, he'll be able to develop right away as a guy that Cincy will lean on up front. I have full faith that he'll rise to the challenge: he was a starter day one at A&M as well and was always rock solid for the Aggies.
This is a great pick for Cincinnati. Stewart is about to have every member of their fanbase energized, and will wreak some havoc on the teams that passed him up at the same time.
