Shemar Turner just cured what ails Aggie fans after Nic Scourton slid further than most had hoped. The former five-star defensive lineman out of DeSoto was just selected by the Chicago Bears to help in their current turnaround effort.
Turner had been projected by some to be a third or fourth-round pick in this year's draft, but the Bears snap him up right near the end of the second round. The Bears obviously saw something elite in Turner that caused them to take him before anyone else could.

There was a bit of a run on defensive linemen earlier which likely helped Turner. Whatever the case, though, this is a big time move for the Bears, who will be getting one of the most powerful and versatile linemen in this year's draft.
Shemar Turner's positional versatility will be massive gift to Chicago Bears fans
Turner was a highly-rated signee for the Aggies who started quickly into his career in Maroon and White. He was making plays early on in his A&M career, contributing as quickly as his second game in an A&M uniform.
He's been a big time player for the Ags ever since, moving all over the defensive line. He has played both tackle and end, showing that he can give the Bears two players for the price of one.
Turner's best trait, though, is his raw power. When he's on, he knocks opposing offensive linemen back on their heels immediately. He won't be a speed-rush, blazing-fast, off-the-edge type of guy, but if he can harness his considerable physical gifts, he could be a mainstay in Chicago for quite some time.
