Silver lining for Texas A&M football: Injury to Le'Veon Moss may not be serious
Despite decisive loss, Texas A&M football may have a silver lining if Le'Veon Moss is able to return
Texas A&M football just suffered their worst loss of the season (I guess that's easy to determine when you only have two, though) against South Carolina. After keeping things close, even coming back in the first half after an early deficit, the Gamecocks blew things wide open late with some opportunistic play.
The Aggie offense looked anemic in the second half, something that hasn't happened much in the conference slate for A&M. That no doubt had a lot to do with the fact that Le'Veon Moss, the star RB for the Aggies, exited the game early with an injury and did not return.
There was some initial thought, given how quickly the prognosis of no return for Moss was handed down, that things could be pretty serious for no. 8. If he misses extended time, the Ags are going to be up a creek without a paddle: he's been their best offensive player this year.
However, in the postgame presser, Mike Elko expressed some hope that Moss may not have suffered as severe an injury as it initially appeared.
This would be huge headed down the stretch of this season. The Aggies have a bye this week, and so Moss has a full two weeks to recover before A&M plays New Mexico State on the 16th. Given the quality of that opponent, it wouldn't be terrible if he missed that game, either.
But if the Aggies want to defeat Auburn or Texas, Moss's presence will play a big role. His return is key for this team—here's hoping he heals up quickly.
