Six Texas A&M football flip targets: Nick Townsend - Texas TE commit

Townsend is a guy that the Aggies are well familiar with. He's a plus athlete with some great speed and jumping ability, and would be a real weapon in the pass game.

He and Kiotti Armstrong, the Aggies' current TE commit, slot in completely different roles in this Collin Klein offense. Townsend is more of a dangerous H-back type—a position we haven't seen a lot out of recently due to the thin depth there—while Armstrong is an in-line TE through and through.

Townsend ended up pledging to Texas after looking like an OU and A&M race for a while. Now, though, it looks like the Aggies are back in it.

Texas has to hope for a great showing in this one if they want to hold on to Townsend. It is a terrible sign for them that he is visiting somewhere else this close to signing day, giving the Maroon and White a chance to flip him with only days until he is supposed to finalize his collegiate destination.
