Social media explodes after Cashius Howell pulls off unbelievable hat trick

Cashius Howell just pulled off maybe the most unbelievable defensive feat any of us have ever seen in this game against Utah State.

After a disheartening possession earlier on in the frame where Utah State used some trick plays and an unbelievable catch to get down the field, the Aggie defense needed to step up. It was the senior defensive end transfer from Bowling Green who decided to make things happen for the A&M D.

Utah State, backed up in their own end of the field, decided to attempt three passes in a row. Each drop back ended up as a sack by Cashius Howell— something that I'm not sure has ever happened before, certainly not for the Aggies.

"They're calling it the 'Immaculate Possession' from Cashius Howell," laughed Taylor Zarzour in disbelief after returning from the break. You can see the video below from the Texas A&M football X account.

As you'd expect, social media began to pop off after Howell got this most unlikely of hat tricks.

I have to admit, that one made me actually laugh rather than the sort of nasal exhale you do when you see a moderately-funny meme online.

Bob may have an issue with spelling "Cashius," but he's right in his reaction.

In this one, I think the all-caps are justified.

After recording only one sack against UTSA last week, the Aggies are already causing a lot of havoc for the USU offense. On the drive after this one, A&M recorded yet another sack— this time from Scooby Williams.

The defense needs to keep things at this level of intensity for the rest of the game. It's just a tune up, and you can see that from the way the Aggies are handling the personnel substitutions, but A&M needs to stay on top of things here until the end of the game.
