Texas A&M baseball gets sweet revenge with first SEC series win of 2026

Things looked dicey on Friday night, but Texas A&M has won both games so far in their third SEC series.

Texas A&M baseball fans were not exactly feeling optimistic after their first two SEC series of the year, as they dropped one each to Oklahoma and Georgia. In both scenarios, the Aggies scored more runs than the other team on the weekend, but lost two of three to come out of the series in a bad way.

This weekend's trip up to Columbia, Missouri was a big opportunity for the Aggies to get right, as Mizzou is by far the worst team in the conference. This was also a personal one for the Aggies, as the Missouri series last year— in which the Aggies inexplicably got swept— was where everything went down the drain for a mid-season surge that saw them almost make the tournament.

In other words, this was one they had to win. The Aggies were very much in control in game one— right up until they weren't. They pulled the game out, but it came with absolutely zero warm feelings from the Aggie fanbase.

The Aggies ended up blowing a massive lead in the first game, but not the game itself. There were a lot of questions in that one, especially over Michael Earley's handling of starting pitcher, Shane Sdao. Saturday's contest was a bit different story, however.

Texas A&M was in control from the jump today, a welcome change from what transpired on Friday. This was a much sharper looking team, especially at the plate, and they absolutely decimated the Tigers.

It was great to see Gavin Grahovac make a return in style to the lineup after getting his hand stepped on by a Missouri player on Friday. That was painful just to watch, but you wouldn't think Gavin had anything wrong with him at all, given the way that he was obliterating anything over the plate today.

He and Hacopian are quite the dynamic duo, powering the Aggies to 14 runs today in their victory. If they can stay hot, this is a team that has the power at the plate to hold up to even the best pitchers in the conference. The Aggies will go for the sweep of Missouri tomorrow afternoon.
