Texas A&M baseball is in the midst of an extremely unfortunate spate of injuries to some of their star players, and the latest is freshman Boston Kellner, who has been a really solid bat in the Aggies' lineup so far this season. Kellner was struck in the face with a fastball late in last night's game, and has been ruled out for both halves of today's double header.
It really did not look intentional on the part of the Ole Miss pitcher, but intentional or not, taking a fast ball to the face is never going to be something that you bounce back quickly from. The latest news from head coach Michael Earley on Kellner's status casts quite a few shadows over his availability going forward, which is a real gut punch for Aggie fans.

The Aggies cannot catch a break with some of these injuries right now.
Kellner joins Josh Stewart and Nico Partida as Aggies that are missing out on the game today. Partida should be back in short order— hopefully— but Stewart is out for the year, unfortunately.
If Texas A&M wants to make their way to a College World Series final this year, then they'll need some luck on the injury front. They'll not only need to get Partida back soon, but Kellner in some capacity.
Ben Royo is stepping up in Kellner's absence and has already had a pretty good game today against the Rebels. If he can continue to give the Aggies some quality at-bats, then Kellner will have time to heal up. Hopefully, he can do so pretty quickly.
