Texas A&M baseball's championship-level roster receiving significant recognition with four preseason All-Americans
Mike Earley has walked into one of the most loaded rosters in America for his first year with Texas A&M baseball. After all of the drama of the immediate aftermath to last year's College World Series, the Aggies ended up not only returning most of their significant players from that run, but also brought in a stellar transfer portal class.
Headlining the group in Aggieland this year, of course, is Jace LaViolette, a guy with a shot at being the no. 1 overall pick in the next MLB Draft if things go right this season. Not far behind him is Gavin Grahovac, who— though a year LaViolette's junior— could be just as good this season for the Aggies.
And let's not forget guys like Ryan Prager, the Aggies' ace pitcher who has decided to run it back despite having strong draft prospects himself after last year. He'll be key for A&M throughout the grind of the regular season and into the postseason this upcoming year.
One of the most intriguing adds for this team in the portal is that of former Penn power bat Wyatt Henseler, who comes to the Aggies after recording an eye-popping OBP in his time in the Ivy League.
All four of these guys have been named as preseason All-Americans by D1Baseball, the standard in collegiate baseball coverage.
LaViolette and Prager were named to the first team, while Grahovac and Henseler were named to the second team.
Clemson, Virginia, and UC-Santa Barbara were the only other squads to have multiple first-teamers. Texas A&M is the team with the most selections to the first and second team with four total.
This isn't even to mention guys with extremely bright prospects this season, such as Kaden Kent, who many are really high on for the Aggies. A&M could end the year with an even more auspicious number on this list if things go right.
