Texas A&M basketball team grows to two players with signee sticking to commitment

Bucky McMillan's time at Texas A&M basketball began with one glaring deficiency on the team: not having a team at all.

After Buzz Williams departed for Maryland, and with so many Aggie players leaving for graduation, the Ags were down to only one player on the roster: Chris McDermott. And for his faith, he will no doubt go down in Aggie lore; however, he's not exactly a guy you build around, barring a huge leap in quality of play.

Due to that reality, McMillan was faced with the prospect of building this team from the ground up. He's been hard at work since taking the job, of course, and has some solid leads in the portal.

However, he may have just scored one of the bigger wins his staff will have of the entire cycle— and it didn't come from the transfer ranks. When Buzz left, all Aggie signees were eligible for release from their letters of intent, and some have exercised that option. Today, however, one commit stuck to his word and confirmed that he'll be headed to College Station.

Four-star Jeremiah Green, a player coveted by the likes of Auburn and Alabama, signed with the Aggies today to give Bucky McMillan his second player on the team.

Hopefully, this sparks a run of good fortune for Texas A&M basketball, and they can rattle off some more additions here soon. The sooner the Ags look like a real squad, the more quickly excitement will build.

There's some real willingness among the Aggie faithful to see what McMillan is all about. His addition has been an infusion of energy into the program, and if he can keep adding guys like Green, it won't be long until Reed is once more packed to the gills with
