With Texas A&M basketball looking to restart shop for the 2025-26 season, the Aggies have something to look forward to in regards to a new leader.
With Wade Taylor IV, Andersson Garcia, Hayden Hefner and other veterans playing their last game in a disappointment against Michigan, it appears the Aggies have a few names on their list, including their own head man, Buzz Williams in links with the Maryland head coaching position as of this weekend.
Now, with new reports of Maryland not looking in Williams' direction, it's time to either keep Williams or reconcile with new leadership right away.
Either way, the Aggies could have a steal on their hands thanks to a Big East star that speaks Williams' basketball philosophy.
RJ Luis Jr. could be massive steal if he comes back to NCAA basketball
Right now, the Big East Player of the Year is undecided on whether or not to come back to college basketball or take the leap of faith to the NBA.

Luis Jr. is the reigning Big East Player of the Year who played the last two seasons at St. John’s. Began his career at UMass. Native of Miami, Florida.

As a player who began his career at UMass, the now, former Red Storm star could shine a light under Williams. Luis averaged 18.2 PPG along with 7.2 RPG. This is already a guy with a guard-like mentality that can rebound the basketball with ease.
A guy like this under Williams can strive to such new heights. We saw the seniors and graduates this season going after loose balls and jump balls, scraping by to get whatever they needed. Luis Jr. could very well improve his draft stock under another year in college basketball, and could be a gift for Buzz if Buzz decides to stay.
Obviously, there are tons of more fish in the sea, but think of Luis Jr. already one of the big fish in the smaller pond.
