Bucky McMillan is already doing one thing without even coaching a game yet: Winning.
McMillan has been able to snag some of the key names in the portal this offseason, and it looks like a five-star recruit is already in talks with Texas A&M. Not just in talks, but five-star big man from Pasadena, California, Josh Irving is bound to visit Aggieland this afternoon.
Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers details Irving's game very well. He gives the coaches scouting report on the 6-foot-11 big man from California, saying that Irving has ‘a vertical lob threat, can stretch out the defense and shoot the three-ball. Rim-protector defensively.’ Obviously, other schools like Kansas, Kentucky and Louisville are in the mix, but Bucky McMillan has the perfect transition for a guy like Irving.
Five-star big man Josh Irving has a 'great relationship' with the A&M coaching staff
It seems Irving has been in close conversations with assistant coach, Kyle Keller.
Texas A&M is hosting five-star senior Josh Irving for an official visit beginning this afternoon, he told @Stockrisers.

“I’m constantly talking to Coach Kyle [Keller] just about basketball and other stuff. So, I have a great relationship with them.”

Irving dropped a subliminal message on the Jayhawks, saying that they have been 'a little bit more on the quiet side.' This would be a steal if someone like McMillan, Keller and the staff can pull one out of the bag while Kansas seems to be on the snooze button.
Irving's highlights make him look like a walking bucket all over. He has such a size advantage over his opponents that they don't even know what to do with him. The only slight weakness if any is how his quickness will transition to the game.
It wouldn't be surprising at this point to see McMillan get a victory here. He's already been getting a ton of them, so, why not have add a five-star big man to the list? Mackenzie Mgbako was a former consensus five-star recruit out of high school, but A&M got him out of the portal. This would be much, much different if the Ags can pull this one off.
