Texas A&M couldn't get much of anything going against Oklahoma. A lot of that had to do with Nijel Pack hitting like crazy from beyond the arc, but the Aggies couldn't buy a bucket to save their lives.
The Aggies should be a lock to make the tournament at this point, but fans are only wondering what the seeding will look like. Getting an eight or nine seed would mean playing against the No. 1 seed, assuming the Aggies advance out of the first round. The Oklahoma loss might assure the Aggies that they won't have to worry about that.
CBS Sports has the Aggies as the No. 10 seed. This might be what fans want to hear to avoid a No. 1 seed by the Round of 32. The Aggies' opponents could also be surprisingly more in their favor as the 10 seed.
Texas A&M looks to be a 10 seed going into the tournament
There are conflicting numbers on where A&M could be. Joe Lunardi still has the Ags as a nine seed playing UCLA in the first round. CBS Sports has the Aggies as the 10 seed playing Villanova.
Villanova is 24-8 overall and the third-best team in the Big East, but the conference has been somewhat weak, with St. John's and UConn being the only teams standing out. The Wildcats aren't as much of a threat as in years past, and UCLA has picked up some key wins this season in a much tougher Big Ten Conference.
The Aggies can thrive as a 10 seed compared to a nine. It's going to be a tough road for Bucky's Aggies either way, but at least they wouldn't run into Arizona or Florida in the Round of 32, assuming they make it there.
The Aggies didn't play well at all against Oklahoma, and got too behind too early. They have to be better on a lot of levels if they want to get out of their first game.
