It's been quite a honeymoon for Texas A&M basketball and Bucky McMillan. The former Samford head man has had portal star after portal star coming into the program. It looks almost similar to what John Calipari quickly grew at Arkansas.
Unfortunately, one of his portal stars, Mackenzie Mgbako from Indiana, will miss some time to start the season after having surgery on his foot. However, it looks like the Ags avoided a real scare, as it looks like Mgbako avoided something more serious.
The Aggies have had nothing but wins in the portal this season, and it looks like they caught a huge break.
McMillan says Mgbako should be back from injury by mid-November
This isn't much news inside the Aggies, as it appears, they already knew that Mgbako needed surgery. They don't need any injuries hindering McMillan's first season, and this is quite the update that Aggies fans needed before anything catastrophic happened.
As college basketball fans know, conference play won't start until the beginning of the season for much of everybody. This gives Mgbako enough time to recover by the time we hit the SEC.
INJURY NEWS:

Texas A&M head basketball coach Bucky McMillan says Mackenzie Mgbako “had a good surgery and should be back sometime in early to mid November. It’s not one that will jeopardize anything when he gets back.”
Mgbako suffered a Jones fracture in his foot. pic.twitter.com/8qdLocadqS
A Jones fracture is a sharp pain outside of the foot. Swelling may appear, and it can be difficult to walk normally on the foot. This is nothing to play around with, and the Aggies' medical team is doing a great job with this injury.
The Ags should be able to pick up the slack with Mgbako not out there. It's better for this injury and surgery to happen now and only miss some small non-conference time rather than SEC time.
Sure, it's a slight blow to the start the season, but fans should be fortunate that this wasn't as serious as it could've been.
