March Madness projections: Texas A&M basketball on verge of making seed line jump in latest bracketology
Texas A&M basketball, despite last Saturday's unsightly loss in Austin, is still having a banner year thus far. The Aggies, who are set to host Oklahoma this week before a weekend trip to South Carolina, are still one of the best teams in what appears to be the nation's best conference this year, and will have plenty of opportunity to show their mettle.
What they've accomplished thus far, though, is more than enough to recommend them as a contender for a top seed. They've been in a favorable spot in the March Madness projections all year thanks to their record against tough non-conference schedule.
Accordingly, even though the Aggies suffered a tough loss this last week, they're still in a prime position in Joe Lunardi's latest bracketology projections. The Aggies are sitting in the top spot for the no. 4 seed, meaning that they will have a chance to move up into the 3-line if they stay consistent and a team ahead of them falters.

Texas A&M basketball will have the chance to be the team that causes such a falter, too. A&M still has dates remaining on the calendar against Auburn, Tennessee, and Florida— the number one overall seed and two 2-seeds, respectively.
What's more, only one of those is a road contest— Florida. The Aggies get both Tennessee and Auburn at home this season, which will be huge: the Ags have only one home loss this year, and it came to a one-seed (Alabama) when the Aggies were without Wade Taylor. A&M was way closer in that game than they had any right to be without their top player, which speaks to the power of Reed Arena.
Texas A&M basketball has positioned themselves well here, a little more than a month out from the tournament field being announced. Here's hoping the Ags can keep this level of play up through the home stretch.
