Texas A&M basketball, after a lengthy losing streak, just had the best week you could imagine. They went 2-0 in their games, including a win over the no. 1 team in the nation— the first ever that this program has accomplished— and a rivalry win on the road against LSU.

Due to that aforementioned losing streak, the Aggies had plunged in the polls. After climbing all the way to 7th a few weeks ago, A&M had fallen down to 22nd after four losses in a row.

It was honestly impressive that they hadn't fallen out of the polls altogether. That speaks mainly to the quality of the resume that the Ags had compiled up until that point; what A&M has achieved this year on that front stands up to any other squad in the nation. After this past week, though, the Aggies are due for a jump in the polls— and that's exactly what they got.

Texas A&M basketball leaps eight spots in AP Poll, carrying huge momentum into SEC tournament

Texas A&M basketball just jumped all the way from 22nd in the AP poll to 14th, no doubt thanks in large part to their decisive home win over no. 1 Auburn.

This is a deserved boost for the Aggies, who could climb even higher with a big week in Nashville for the SEC Tournament. The Aggies are set to hand down some revenge, no matter who their opponent will be, and if they are able to do that, they'll get another shot at the Tennessee Volunteers on Friday.

The Aggies are well-positioned right now to make a big run in March. For the sake of Buzz Williams, and this entire senior group, let's hope they can do just that.
