Texas A&M basketball defeats number one Auburn in wire-to-wire thrashing over regular-season SEC champions
All we have been talking about with this Texas A&M basketball team over the last few days is the seeming loss of control that they have had during this four-game losing streak. The Aggies have lost a couple of games that they were supposed to win, and were completely non-competitive down the stretch in a tough road game against Florida.
All of those unpleasant results are now so much dust in the wind at this point. This Texas A&M basketball team just pulled off something that has never been done before in the history of the program, as they have knocked off the number one-ranked Auburn Tigers in Reed Arena.

This Texas A&M basketball team didn't just beat the Tigers, though— they honestly thrashed them. They jumped out to a huge lead right off the bat, and though Auburn cut it to only a one-point game late in the first half, the Aggies took a six-point lead into the locker room.
The deficit for the Tigers was double digits for most of the second half, as the Ags came back out of the half swinging. Though the Tigers hit back time and time again, the Aggies were able to respond every single time, with a flurry of offensive acuity that we've hardly ever seen out of this group.
Every familiar face contributed in this one. Zhuric Phelps, Wade Taylor, Solomon Washington, Manny Obaseki, Pharell Payne, and Henry Coleman all were huge in this win.
This is quite the springboard for the Aggies headed into conference tournament season. The Aggies have one more game to face down when they travel to LSU, but this is the type of win that can get momentum right back on track. Hopefully that's what we see going forward, rather than an emotional hangover from one of the biggest wins in program history.
