Texas A&M just got a key announcement Saturday morning, as RB Rueben Owens II announced he's returning to play for Texas A&M.
This is huge for the Aggies to get as much depth on the RB position as possible with the loss of Le'Veon Moss. A&M will have other young ones joining the RB room, but as it stands, no one has as much in-game college football action as Moss does now.
Funny how Owens II didn't need one of those mini-movies or highlight reels to tell you he was coming back. He just said it.
Let’s run it Back! 👍🏾

RB Rueben Owens II announces he's returning to Texas A&M for 2026
The first thing that fans may say is that he showed some burst in the Mississippi State and Missouri games this season, but other than that, he fell flat. In the Texas game, when they needed the run game to show its teeth, Owens II ran the ball seven times for 21 yards. In the LSU game, he had eight carries for 44 yards, but Marcel Reed took care of the rest that night.
This is about the best player that A&M has at the RB position, but that could change. Players like KJ Edwards or late pickup Carsyn Baker could cut into those minutes, and it wouldn't be too surprising.
We've seen Elko change things up quickly when he doesn't like what he sees, and the RB position should be one he should watch closely. The RB position had a lot more questions than answers after the Miami loss, so it's good to know Owens will be returning.
Owens will work with an entirely new offensive line, so it'll take some time to adjust in 2026. Fans are no doubt happy to see Owens back, and we can't wait to see what he can do.
