Texas A&M has snagged two commits today, even though they're not the ones we expected as of last night. Going into today, the expectation was that the Aggies would land a commitment from Aaron Thomas of Phoenix, Arizona, but instead, the Ags snagged an in-state stud in Zaden Krempin.

The other name— one that fans were highly anticipating— is that of Avery Morcho, an in-state stud in his own right. Morcho did, in fact, make a decision for the Aggies today— something that is looking less and less likely with Thomas— to add to a now-three-man offensive line haul.

This is a massive— literally— addition to this class. The Aggies are pulling in another guard who can develop into a monster, much like they did when they snagged Dametrious Crownover several years ago. Crownover was not highly-regarded by many recruiting services at that point, but getting him in the boat proved to be huge, as he is a key piece of this upcoming season's offensive line.

Texas A&M lands key offensive guard Avery Morcho as part of two-commit day

Morcho is not as college-ready as a guy like Krempin, but he's still a huge addition to this class for the Aggies. He may take a little more time to develop, but depth is necessary with every offensive line class, and Morcho is exactly the kind of prospect you want in your pipeline.

You have to give the Aggies credit, as well, for identifying and zeroing in on their target expeditiously. They wasted no time in making Morcho a priority and securing his commitment— for that, you have to praise Adam Cushing in a big way.

Morcho now makes three offensive line pledges in this class. The Aggies are still in the mix for several other top prospects in what will likely be a cycle where they don't take quite as many offensive linemen. Fans await the upcoming July surge in commitments with bated breath.
