Texas A&M could blow roof off transfer class after hosting first-round OT talent

This has the chance to be massive for Texas A&M if they can land the plane.

Texas A&M is currently hosting star left tackle transfer Jacarrius Peak, formerly of NC State, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports— a player that could potentially blow the roof off of what is already shaping up to be an extremely impressive transfer portal class.

There is a dearth of truly elite offensive tackle prospects in every recruiting class, and those that end up signing and developing to their potential are even fewer. Peak is a guy who shot up recruiting boards near the end of his senior season and has spent the last couple of years in Raleigh showing that he was underrated even despite his late rise.

This is the kind of player that could end up being a day one selection in the NFL draft at a premium position, and the Aggies have gotten the first visit from him. Texas A&M has the chance to close out what could be the crown jewel of this transfer portal class if they get Peak to commit while on his visit.

Texas A&M hosting star left tackle transfer Jacarrius Peak from NC State in move that could reshape offensive line fortunes for 2026

Texas A&M has already picked up two interior players in Coen Echols and Trovon Baugh from LSU and South Carolina, but adding Peak to this haul would make it hands-down elite. This is a position of need for the Aggies in particular (though who couldn't use an elite left tackle?) so that only raises the importance of this visit.

The Aggies are set to have to replace four of five spots along the offensive line with Chase Bisontis now declaring, leaving Mark Nabou as the only returning starter for the Aggies. Robert Bourdon saw some action as an extra tackle at times, but not nearly what you'd hope to be bringing back.

Peak remedies that if the Aggies are able to close this out— and could even possibly be an upgrade, as crazy as that is to say. This is the kind of prospect that could completely flip the offensive line fortunes for the Aggies next year on their head— what was seen as a prospective liability would turn into a strength. Here's hoping Elko and Adam Cushing can get this one done and dusted in short order.
