The Texas A&M pass defense was highly critiqued since the USC bowl game, and going back on it, the entire defense needed some more fire after some frustrating outings against Auburn and South Carolina.
The Aggies didn't waste any time getting help on the defense. The signing of Lyle Hemphill shows that Mike Elko will have more eyes on the team. The addition of Tyler Onyedim along with Albert Regis at defensive lineman show an emphasis in stopping the run, too.
We talked about Regis' stock being underrated and having a chance to skyrocket. Now, Pro Football Focus is on the bandwagon, and we saw it coming from a mile away.
PFF has Regis as one of the top defensive tackles going into the 2026 NFL Draft

Regis racked up by far the most total tackles in his career last season with 36. He also had six pass deflections on the season, which is something he added to his craft from previous years. Being on a list with Domonique Orange, or as they call him 'Big Citrus,' is elite company to work with, but it shows how much Regis has grown over the years.
Texas A&M could end up with a boatload of players entering the draft this season at potentially historic numbers, as the defenders now are a much more experienced group under Elko, who's about to enter his second year as the Aggies' HC.
Devin Jackson, Sports Editor and NFL Draft writer from The Philadelphia Inquirer points out the strengths of Regis.
#TAMU DT Albert Regis is one of my favorite run stoppers I've watched this summer. Surprised he hasn't gotten more love on here. 6-2, 325, powerful hands, can take on double teams and makes plays in backfield/at LOS.

Regis is someone who can fight off blockers and cause havoc in the backfield. Even if he doesn't end up in the stat sheet, this is still a valuable piece that has to be out there a lot this year.
