It hasn't been a surprise to see the Texas A&M defense cause havoc to opposing offenses around the country, and now, two A&M defenders have some hardware to take home after a hard-earned effort against Missouri.
Daymion Sanford has broken out to unreal heights this year, even as a backup, and plays almost like a hybrid player. Sanford has played outstandingly as a linebacker this year in relief of Scooby Williams to make some game-changing plays this season.
Cashius Howell leads the SEC in sacks with 10.5, and will also take home some hardware after the week against Missouri.
Cashius Howell and Daymion Sanford take home awards after Missouri game
These two guys have been the hottest defenders on the team lately, and it's only right that they get rewarded. Howell being awarded this means Texas A&M has won the award six times in nine games played this season.
This goes to show that the hire of Lyle Hemphill was a genius move by Texas A&M, as Hemphill has gotten the most out of his guys. Elko now has more eyes on the defense, which has been his specialty over the years.
This won't be the last time that Texas A&M will win an award on defense, as Dezz Ricks at one point has been described as a lockdown corner with opposing quarterbacks fearing him down the field. Taurean York has been an incredible captain this season, and he's got a lot more ahead this season.
A&M can win in many ways, and the front seven is just another weapon that offenses fear around the country.
