The Texas A&M Aggies have four revenge games to complete for 2025. With an improved offense and a new Marcel Reed, the Aggies are much more in reach than last season to turn those four losses into four wins.
One of those revenge games will be the obvious: the Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns fans are always talking about how "back" they are, but they've fallen short against Washington and Ohio State the last two seasons. Yes, the Aggies have a lot of work to do to get relevant again, but that didn't stop one podcaster from tearing the Longhorns to shreds.
Podcaster Brad Powers compared Texas to Alabama, and how the media is almost wanting the narrative of Sark's Longhorns to be what was of Nick Saban's Crimson Tide. The standard is very different when comparing the two schools. After all, Alabama won six national titles after Texas's last title.

"(Texas) is the next Alabama? Are you kidding me?
"They have won zero national championships!"

The last Texas national championship came nearly 20 years ago, thanks to Vince Young. Young rallied the troops to beat the powerhouse of Reggie Bush and the USC Trojans. After that, Colt McCoy led the Horns to a national championship against Alabama, but instead, McCoy was forced to leave with a shoulder injury, which changed the course of Texas football for nearly a decade.
Nick Saban has set the gold standard for college football programs nationwide. It's safe to say that Texas has something great going on now with Steve Sarkisian, but Powers is right to say that Bama is not Texas.
When comparing the two schools, Texas A&M and Texas have had a plethora of players drafted into the NFL, and Johnny Manziel winning the Heisman is way more recent than Ricky Williams in 1998. Texas A&M has had plenty of individual talent to celebrate, but the Aggies have to match the Longhorns' past success to make the College Football Playoffs.
This is a great laugh for typical anti-Longhorns fans, but it's also the easy truth to say that Texas is nowhere near the level of the cream of the crop.
