It was a quiet start to Zach Clemence's collegiate career at Kansas. After playing only eight games last season at Kansas and averaging only five minutes per game, he has taken his game to new heights unexpectedly.

Now, the former Jayhawk is averaging 15 minutes per game and seven points. He's earned everything he's got, and he's about to excite Aggie fans even more, knowing we could see more of him next season.

Texas A&M big man Zach Clemence has another year of eligibility

TexAgs reporter Carter Karels added that this is not official because paperwork will need to be filed after this season ends, but this is pretty close to official as you can get.

This is about the best news A&M could have right now, as Clemence has emerged as a dependable player who can hit shots in the paint and rebound. Clemence has found his niche under Bucky McMillan, and it seems like only a coach like him could get the most out of a player who used to be known for only playing garbage time minutes.

Clemence is developing as a stretch four player who can play big but also draw big men away from the paint to knock down outside shots. In the loss against Arkansas, Clemence scored 29 points and shot 3/6 from deep.

This is one of the steals that no one saw coming. Clemence may be a starter next season, and he would be a great veteran mentor to one of the best commits McMillan has ever received in four-star Josh Irving. McMillan has gotten the best out of his players, and we will no doubt get the best from Clemence next season.
