Field of 68 released their Coach of the Year power rankings for 2025-26, and while it's fair that plenty of names that are deserving are on there, it seems they're missing one.
Bucky McMillan was left off the list after taking Texas A&M to the top of the SEC. We still have a long season to go, of course, but nobody thought A&M would be in this position.
Arizona's Tommy Lloyd, Nebraska's Fred Hoiberg and Miami (Ohio)'s Travis Steele are among the top three candidates on the list, but there are two names that Bucky McMillan could've arguably leapfrogged. Either way, A&M fans are in an uproar.

The two names on the list Bucky could've replaced might've been Brad Brownell of Clemson and Mark Byington of Vanderbilt. That's not to take away what they've done, but McMillan has been doing more with a lot less.
TexAgs reporter Luke Evangelist says it best. The Aggies were picked 13th— 13th!— in the SEC to finish, and they're ahead of the defending champion Florida Gators. Arkansas, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Alabama? Yeah, they're below the Aggies, too.
This list is just so lazy.

I’m not arguing for him to win it, but how do you not even have Bucky McMillan in the top 10?
He was the last power conference head coach hired and had 1 player on his roster. Picked to finish 13th in the SEC and A&M is in 1st place. https://t.co/wyVf21koas
Fans might be outraged, but Bucky probably doesn't care. The Aggies are staying relevant without arguably their best player, the Indiana transfer Mackenzie Mgbako. There's no reason why McMillan shouldn't be in the running for SEC Coach of the Year, but we'll get to that at another time.
The Aggies don't care. Rashaun Agee is looking like a man possessed every game. Pop Isaacs and Ruben Dominguez are shooting lights out from downtown. Rylan Griffen is looking like the part of the perfect role player. The Aggies are making it work no matter who they play.
That's alright, Bucky. Fans see what you're doing, and they know the uphill climb this team is already going through.
