Texas A&M fans won't escape awkward silence following Myles Garrett's bold Browns take

Not even Texas A&M fans are going to be able to escape this one.

Myles Garrett has had one a long offseason thus far, as he has completely turned the other direction in favor of the Cleveland Browns. He publicly asked to be traded after the 2024 season, but that didn't last too long, as he was able to sign a deal to be named the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

Garrett was among the first of a long line of defensive ends who need to get paid. While Trey Hendrickson and Micah Parsons are still looking to get paid, Garrett made history by putting ink to paper with his deal. Even though former Texas A&M star Shemar Stewart is still looking for his deal, that's a completely different story that is a ways away from being solved.

Now, Garrett is making headlines by setting all-time goals for himself. He wants to make a Super Bowl, and while he's the type of player to compete for a Super Bowl, his comments are far-fetched enough for fans not to take him seriously.

Garrett's Super Bowl ambitions for Browns is too radical to believe

Right now, four contenders are vying to become the first string quarterback for the Browns. With rookies Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel now in the picture with Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco, the brutal logjam at quarterback is far from being restored. Garrett is still bold for putting the Browns at the top of the NFL world.

"I mean, I expect to get to the Super Bowl...That's our expectation every year. I expect to run back to Defensive Player of the Year. So keeping both those things in mind, I have to be the very best player I can be every single day, whether we're practicing or playing."

Even if he's one of the most dominant specimens in the NFL, Garrett can only do so much. The quarterback position is by far the biggest difference maker in the game, and one guy on defense isn't enough to make up any concerns at QB.

The Browns are trying to make a turnaround a dismal 2024 campaign, but even if they turn it around, QB concerns and other missing pieces isn't enough ground to make up to make it all the way. Aggies fans will always love Garrett, but this is probably too bold of a take for Texas A&M fans to take to the bank.
