College Football Playoff season is officially here, and while the national media is talking about the X's and O's, Mike Elko's predecessor is giving his two cents about the Miami-Texas A&M game, too.
Jimbo Fisher was given $77 million to leave Texas A&M, the biggest payout in college football history. Fisher's sour ending would have fans think that would warrant him to trash Texas A&M, but instead, he went the opposite route.
Fisher was on the ACC Network desk giving his prediction. Texas A&M fans: you'll like what he said.
Former Texas A&M HC Jimbo Fisher picks Texas A&M to beat Miami
"I love Miami and I've been watching them all year. I like what they're doing proving a point here but, I think this home field advantage and the Aggies being here at home, I'd give a slight edge to the Aggies. "Jimbo Fisher
Fisher added on to the so-called analytics, but those odds are only slightly in favor of Texas A&M, as the Aggies are only a -3.5 favorite against Miami.
That isn't much of a confidence booster if you're an A&M fan, but out of all people who are supposed to know best, it's the former head coach.
It will take a while for Texas A&M fans and Fisher to see eye-to-eye once again, but we all knew it was the best move for both sides. Fisher knows exactly what's going on inside Kyle Field when a big game happens.
While we're on the subject of Fisher's resume, we also have to remember that the Aggies had upset No. 1 Alabama on Oct. 9, 2021, in what was probably Fisher's biggest regular-season win in his Aggie tenure.
Most of the media talking heads have described the game as a toss-up for the most part. Knowing these two teams, we probably will see a close game, but this is a gold quote from the former Texas A&M HC.
