Texas A&M football adds KC Concepcion via transfer portal, putting finishing touches on huge receiver haul
Texas A&M football came into this portal window in desperate need of help at receiver. Well, that has been addressed— and about as solidly as it can be.
First, the Aggies added Micah Hudson, a former five-star with all the potential in the world. Then, they snagged Mario Craver, one of the brightest young stars in the SEC. Now, they've added proven production via the commitment of NC State's KC Concepcion.
As a freshman in 2023, Concepcion racked up 829 yards on 71 receptions for the Wolfpack, showing he can produce on a high volume. He also added 320 rush yards on 41 attempts, demonstrating his versatility. He recorded 10 total touchdowns as a featured offensive player in Raleigh.
His numbers were down this past year, as the entire NC State offense struggled amid quarterback issues this past season. However, he still demonstrated that same explosiveness and versatility, notching 8 touchdowns on 72 total touches.
Concepcion was rightly one of the most coveted receivers in the portal. Miami, Colorado, and more were all after his services, but he elected to join Mike Elko and Texas A&M football for the upcoming season.
This is a huge way to cap off the receiver class for the Aggies in this transfer cycle. Concepcion was the apple of many teams' eye in this portal window, and the Ags were able to beat them all out for his pledge, despite already having two high-level guys in the boat. The receiver room is officially a position of strength for the Aggies next year.
