Just when you think this Texas A&M football staff is ready to rest on their laurels for a second, you get news like this.
The Aggies have put together a really exciting portal haul at receiver already. A&M's additions of KC Concepcion, Mario Craver, and Micah Hudson have been enough to get the fanbase jazzed up at the potential of the now-completely-flipped wide receiver room.
With the departure of Noah Thomas, however, the Aggies now have a little more bolstering of the roster that they must do. This A&M staff has been on the prowl, monitoring the transfer portal ranks for any names that could be positive adds to the roster.
They have found one such player in new addition Jonah Wilson, a receiver out of the University of Houston. Wilson committed to the Aggies today after a lot of public chatter that he was headed to Nebraska.
With two years under his belt at UH, Wilson didn't see a whole lot of production, but he was reportedly hampered by injuries both years. Standing at 6'3" and 200 LBs, he has the prototypical build for a bigger receiver, and while he doesn't boast the measurables of the 6'6" Noah Thomas, not many do.
Both fans and insiders were taken aback by this one, as most had him penciled in to be a Husker. That speaks to the excellent job the Aggies did in moving in silence to add the Spring Dekaney product, so props to them.
Hopefully Wilson, who was a legit four-star prospect in high school, can leverage his talents with some healthy season in College Station. Welcome to Aggieland, Jonah!
