Texas A&M football a popular visit stop for top offensive and defensive linemen in 2026 recruiting class
Texas A&M football is already among the top classes in the 2026 cycle. Currently sitting at the no. 2 class in the nation with only 10 commitments, the Ags are aiming for a lofty finish in the upcoming year.
They're off to a good start in the commit list, of course, but also in forming relationships with the top talent in the nation. Multiple top prospects have visted the Aggies several times, and the maroon and white reportedly top the list for a couple of top-ten talents.
This early in the cycle, it's uncommon to see actual commitments from players who are that far up in the rankings, but the Aggies reportedly sit in a great position with several of these playersโ and they're looking to solidify their standing with several more. That includes the number one overall prospect in the class, OT Jackson Cantwell.
Cantwell, of Nixa, MO, has set a visit to the Aggies for this upcoming weekend, where the Ags will have a chance to up their standing with him.
The Aggies are competing with the home state Missouri Tigers as well as the Oregon Ducks for Cantwell's signature. Mizzou has shown the ability to lock down top in-state talent recently, and Oregon is always a formidable foe on the trail, so A&M will have their work cut out for them.
Another five-star that will be back on campus soon is Lamar Brown of Baton Rouge, LA. According to Sam Spiegelman of Rivals, Brown will be back on campus for the Aggies twice this springโ March 22 and April 19. Elko already has formed a strong bond with Brown, visiting him as soon as the dead period ended.
Brown is a unique prospect, being a true five-star as both an offensive and a defensive lineman. I'd think he would be more likely to play defensive line for the Aggies, but that will be a bridge to cross at a later point.
The Aggies are setting themselves up well with some of the top talent along the lines in this upcoming class. In a conference where games are won and lost in the trenches, that's a great tack to take.
