Texas A&M football set to host touted Tennessee transfer DB Christian Harrison as Aggies seek to buttress defensive backfield
Texas A&M football's performance against the pass this year, while not quite dismal, was clearly not up to expectation. If you doubt that evaluation, just listen to the opener of the Las Vegas Bowl postgame press conference— Elko's words make it clear how he felt about A&M's acumen in that area this year.
In that vein, the Aggies may be looking to bring in a few defensive backs via the portal this year. Now, there are some mitigating circumstances: the Ags brought in a ton of DBs last cycle, and while the performance against USC was way below par, they were missing Will Lee, their best defensive back.
A&M has already notched a commitment from former Georgia DB Julian Humphrey, who is by any stretch a solid pickup. But it looks like the Bulldogs aren't the only SEC team that A&M may poach a corner from this cycle.
It was reported yesterday that the Aggies are set to host former Tennessee DB Christian Harrison. Son of legendary NFL safety Rodney Harrison, Christian has had quite the career for the Volunteers so far.
This would be a big time pickup for the Aggies, as Harrison is highly touted, and his pedigree is indubitable. A&M will look to get this one buttoned up quickly so as to avoid Harrison being lured away by any of the other schools on his list— Ole Miss in particular.
