Texas A&M football injury report ahead of Mississippi State game: Two new names pop up

Texas A&M football is getting ready to face off against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday. The Aggies are looking to extend their win streak to six games with a victory in Starkville, but winning in Davis Wade Stadium - even against lower-quality MSU squads - is an elusive result at times for the Ags.

The Aggies will have to bring their A-game in this one. You can't let a less complete team hang around at home, so A&M will need to put the Bulldogs away early.

Thankfully, the Ags are coming off of a bye week into this one. They may be a bit rusty, but hopefully the off weekend was a good time for rest and recovery for injured players.

The recent injury report from Texas A&M football, though, had some Aggie fans concerned. Two new names popped up that have not yet been on the report this year: Jaylen Henderson and Terry Bussey.

Now, neither of those guys is listed as "out" for the game. "Doubtful" connotes about a 25% chance to play, while "Questionable" connotes a 50% chance.

Presumably, these injuries happened in practice. I would not be surprised if Henderson was acting as the scout team QB to mimic Mississippi State's Michael Van Buren, given his playstyle.

It's Bussey that has Aggie fans concerned. The dynamic freshman is really coming into his own as a receiver and figures to play a prominent role on the A&M offense going forward.

There's no word on the nature of his injury, but him being listed as "Questionable" is definitely a better sign than if he were already "Out". Hopefully, he is able to go on Saturday, but if there's any risk of re-injury, it may be better for him to rest for next weekend's showdown with LSU.
