Texas A&M legend Mike Evans makes historic catch and run to go for 11th straight 1,000 yard season

It was one of the more bizarre sequences in an NFL game when the outcome was already decided.

It also seemed to be one of the more emotional moments of Mike Evans' Hall of Fame career.

When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers knew they were going to win the NFC South for the fourth year in a row, it seemed like Evans was going to fall just five yards short of going for his 11th straight 1,000-yard season since entering the NFL in 2014.

When a timeout was called with 36 seconds ago and the outcome already decided with the Bucs already up by eight. The vibe on field wasn't getting ready for kneel down. Instead, it was the crowd pleading for the football to go to Evans.

The rest is history.

It only took a two-yard out route to get Evans the ball and he did the rest by making a cut and getting eight yards, making his final number at 1,003 receiving yards. Evans accomplished this feat despite missing three games this season.

Evans celebrated with his teammates, igniting Raymond James Stadium into an emotional roar.

Evans has already entered elite company, passing names such as Larry Fitzgerald, Terrell Owens and now Randy Moss.

Since entering the league, Evans has maintained elite consistency as one of the greatest wideouts in history. He's also been known to be one of the more underrated receiving names in history, despite his historic success. Of course, Evans has the NFL record of most 1,000-yard seasons to start a career, fresh off graduating from Texas A&M, where he played with Johnny Manziel, Jake Mathews, and others.

Evans is a Super Bowl champion and a five-time Pro Bowl selection. He deserved to get the chance to get his yardage even in the most unnecessary of circumstances.
