Texas A&M football legend laughably disrespected in Bleacher Report ranking

This will rub some Aggie fans the wrong way.

Texas A&M football legend Christian Kirk can now be labeled as a veteran in the NFL. Kirk started his career with the Arizona Cardinals, becoming a perfect fit with Arizona's once young, electrifying offensive speed. He then joined the Jacksonville Jaguars, helping out another young quarterback in the process, Trevor Lawrence. He had his best season overall with Lawrence in 2022, where he went for 84 grabs, 1,108 yards and eight scores.

He got traded to the Houston Texans earlier this offseason in exchange for a seventh-round pick. In a move which looked to be steal for the Texans, apparently not everyone was a fan, as Kirk has since been dubbed as overhyped from Bleacher Report.

This has to be one of the more laughable and shocking rankings that we've seen this offseason, especially because there wasn't much criticism on the Kirk signing to begin with. Now, all of a sudden, he's getting dubbed as the most "overpaid" wide receiver in the NFL, making $18 million as an annual salary.

Kirk being slandered as most overpaid WR will have Aggie fans scratching their heads

As Gary Davenport from Bleacher Report says, the exchange of the trade itself shows how much the Jaguars were just looking to get rid of him, as he was traded for a measly seventh-round pick.

"The problem is the 28-year-old has just 1,166 yards in the past two seasons combined. And he has missed 14 games over the past two seasons, including nine a year ago after breaking his collarbone...And when Kirk hits free agency again next year, the market for his services is going to be far different than when he joined the Jaguars."

This comes as a surprise, considering the fact that Kirk signing with the Texans didn't really come with much pushback. In fact, the signing was to provide depth with Tank Dell set to miss the entire 2025 season from an unfortunate leg injury he suffered late in the 2024 season.

Kirk making $18 million annually shouldn't be as much of a question as some of his other peers like Michael Pittman Jr. He's making $23 million annually, and we can argue that he's someone who downgraded last season. Stefon Diggs, who just signed with the New England Patriots, will be making $21 million annually, and he's got some off-field issues that will have some concerned to begin the season.

This is a chance for Kirk to put a chip on his shoulder this season. Sure, he's been injured, but that shouldn't mean that he should be slandered as the most overpaid WR in the NFL.
