Texas A&M football looking to seize back momentum from LSU in 5-star recruitment

This has been a high-stakes recruitment where the pendulum has swung back and forth several times— but Texas A&M football may be taking control.

Texas A&M football has been building a really strong 2026 recruiting class so far this year. The Aggies have added several key pieces already to their commit group from all over the nation already, and they are far from done.

The Aggies just got done with a huge visit weekend over the past few days. In the course of that weekend, the Ags hosted several high-value prospects, including a five-star WR who recently committed to LSU.

That is an achievement in and of itself, of course. But as you'd expect, that is not the only high-level battle that the Aggies are waging with the Bayou Bengals on the recruiting front— and the Ags are looking to wrest back control.

Texas A&M football set to host Lamar Brown once again to stem LSU momentum

Texas A&M football has long been a favorite of five-star OL/DL Lamar Brown. The Baton Rouge product has been to Aggieland many times over the past year, and every visit helps the Ags get closer to closing the deal on one of the nation's top prospects.

However, the Tigers have made a strong push recently for the hometown hero. Brown, after admitting the Aggies were a leader earlier on in his recruitment, was all about the purple and gold not too long ago. However, after getting Brown back on campus last weekend, the Aggies look to be right back in the thick of things.

An even better sign came down today when Brown announced that he would be back in College Station this upcoming weekend:

This is a massive coup for the Aggies, who looked like they were playing from behind not too long ago. If they can once again get in the driver's seat on this recruitment, they'll be in business in a big way. Brown is a key part of this class coming together in the way the Ags want, so they'll do anything they can to get him in the boat.
